Even though we just wrapped up our second year of club volleyball, the idea of volleyball spirit clips was totally new to me. And now? Iām obsessed. (According to a sporty friend of mine, these crafty clothespins were apparently a thing for various sports even back when I was a teen… you know, when the dinosaurs roamed… but we never did anything like that on the Poms Squad, so I had no idea!)
These fun little DIY clothespin crafts are such a cute way to show team spirit, encourage others, and create some tournament day memories.Ā The girls love making them between games, and itās become a whole thing during tournaments. They try to secretly clip players from other teams when no oneās looking. The reactions are the bestālaughs, squeals, or totally pretending they didnāt notice even though they 100% did.

As you can see, itās not just the players, either. Security gets clipped. Moms and dads get clipped. Coaches get clipped. Younger siblings? They want in too. Iāve seen boys proudly wearing their spirit clips on their hat bills and little girls light up when they discover someone clipped one onto their ponytail!

Use markers and decorations to match your team colors
Add the team name to the bottom of the clips
- Write encouraging messages like āYou got this!ā or āGreat serve!ā
Use washi tape, pom poms, glitter, rhinestones (or even puff paint if you want to get fancy and have time to make at home beforehand!). We even got a clip with a bright orange feather!
