As we wrap up the month of March, I think it’s safe to say it has not gone as anyone could ever expect. I’ve had a lot of different projects and plans swirling in my head, and I hope to eventually get those out of my head and on this blog so I can share with you. In the meantime, like many of you, I am taking it day by day and doing the best I can.
How are you holding up? I am thankful that so far we are doing just fine…it’s hard to get some limited supplies like paper products and disinfectants, but for the most part, we’re good. I’ve been more concerned about people’s response to this virus than the virus itself, though it is terrifying. It really hit me a week ago when my daughter told me on a Friday night that her throat hurt. She already has respiratory issues and the thought of taking her to a walk-in clinic scared me terribly. Luckily we were able to do a virtual visit Saturday morning and after a bit of a delay, we got medicine Sunday and she’s made a full recovery. It made me realized that while I can keep my family home and “safe,” there are still threats that can happen beyond my control. This is just life. So, I try to focus on what I can control.
Motivation, for me, is hard to control. I usually do my best creative work in the mornings, when I am alone, and when I am inspired…not necessarily when I try to schedule it. So creating new content lately has been hard. But, I did manage to make a new screensaver for next month. It’s ironic I had the Juliette Gordon Low quote picked out weeks ago before this pandemic was “real” to us. I thought it was a good one to keep.
For April I needed a little sunshine, something fun and bright to remind me better days are coming, and I should be thankful I am safe at home during this crazy COVID-19 quarantine time. My original plan was to have it more focused on Earth Day, and I wanted to share some project ideas for badges, but, I hope this will be helpful for now.
I have already added this to my lock screen and I admit, I definitely get a little boost when I see the bright, bold, HAPPY colors pop up. I hope it brings a little happiness to your day. ♥
