I ran across this fabulous homemade teething biscuit recipe on Pinterest (where else?) and decided to give it a shot. I’m so glad I did! It’s very easy to make and Little Baby loved it! Best of all, it’s nice and hard and does not flake apart while she’s chewing on it like other teething biscuits I’ve tried.
I read through the comments on the original site and learned that some people were having trouble with the biscuit smoking or even catching fire while cooking in the microwave (yikes!) so I proceeded with caution. Instead of microwaving for a full 60 seconds I found that zapping it in 15 increments worked just fine for me. I probably cooked it for 2 minutes total, but since microwaves vary you can get a feel for how long it needs to cook by the way it feels. It will harden up the more you cook it so when it started feeling pretty solid I took it out and let it cool. Then it really got hard, kind of like a biscotti.
In the sample below I used sweet potato & corn baby food (I forgot to add cinnamon). Just think of all the different flavored varieties you can make for your little one!
